Back-to-school Teacher Greeting

Mom's Apron Strings

School is back! At curriculum night, you might have a 2-minute chance to greet your child’s teacher.

You can say, “Hi, we’re Sayuri’s parents. (I’m Sayuri’s mom.) Nice to meet you! Sayuri is excited about this year. She’s happy to be in your class. Thank you for teaching her this year!”

If you are still new to America, you can add, “Her English is not so good. Thank you for helping her.” Or you can say, “It’s her first time in an American school. You can e-mail me anytime if you need.”

At the end of meeting the teacher, you can say, “It was nice to meet you. Have a good year. Thank you again! Bye!”
